Six New Oil Paintings

Here are three of the six new oil paintings to be shown in the "Sky" exhibition at Maine Art Gallery. The images are from top to bottom: Island and Clouds, oil on linen, 30 x 30 in., 2012; Sailing Lessons, oil on linen, 30 x 40 in., 2012; and Wind and Clouds, oil on linen panel, 9 x 12 in., 2012. All six paintings were either painted en plein air or painted from plein air studies. I've been using RayMar linen oil primed panels these days for the outdoor work and am loving the texture and feel. What a difference from painting on gessoed linen or canvas! The color and paint is more alive and doesn't stain when you try to wipe down to the primed surface. Very nice!
