City Hall (Portland), oil, 16x12, 2013

It's been awhile since I last posted (been posting to FB more often). I painted this on location in downtown Portland, Maine about a month ago. The graphic shapes created by the sun on the buildings and the striking light was compelling to me. It was quite a cold and windy day and the sun tracking across the sky was changing quite rapidly so I had to come back the next day to finish it up. Luckily there were coffee shops nearby to get warm!
