Thanksgiving, Construction Zone, Small Works and Painting Commission

I had a great Thanksgiving with friends. This year they did a vegetarian meal, which turned out amazing. I did miss the turkey and gravy though. Also, the fall has been filled with a lot of activity at my humble house in the woods. After sixteen years of using a hand pump for water and a composting toilet, I am moving into the 21st century with a drilled well, septic system and a forthcoming addition with a bedroom and bathroom. Wow. A house warming party is in order when it's completed!

The Small Works 2013 show is now on (until December 24) at Courthouse Gallery Fine Art in Ellsworth, Maine. There's a great collection of works from a dozen artists under twelve inches in size.

The latest commission, The Last Swing Bridge, was shipped off a few weeks ago to a collector in Santa Fe. The painting was commissioned as a present and highlights a fun bird's eye view of the last swing bridge in the state of Maine (Damariscotta). It's slated for replacement this winter.

Now, it's time to focus on my work for Greenhut Galleries 7th Annual Portland Biennial and a solo show at Courthouse Gallery Fine Art in 2014.
